For years Chinese women have worn jade jewelry. There are two types of jade; jadeite and nephrite. The jade jewelry worn by Chinese women is usually jadeite. Jadeite is can be found in South America, Mexico, Tibet, Brazil, and South China. This type of jade is also known as “imperial jade” and is often used to make jade pendants.

Nephrite is largely found in British Columbia. Turkistan, New Zealand, and Siberia also produce jade. Jade is so popular in jewelry making because it can be highly polished and it won’t scratch easily. Jade can also be found in several colors.

My sister’s birthday was coming up and I had no idea what to get her.  She is the type of person who has everything and I’m quite the opposite.  I never go shopping.  I don’t know what the latest fashions are, so I was really in the dark on what to get her.

What I cam up with is to get her something that she definitely doesn’t have.  The worst thing that I can think of is getting someone a present that they already own.  So I got her an African tribal mask that went perfectly with her home décor.  She totally loved it and I’m going handmade all the time.
