The Taser stun gun began its infancy in 1969, when Jack Cover – a NASA researcher – started to develop it. In 1974, a prototype was completed; this early version used gunpowder, as is such, it was classified as a firearm.
By the 1990’s the Taser had been revamped to its current model, which utilizes an electric result and is often used by both law enforcement and civilians, though the two groups have different models at their availability.
