When considering great Camping Sleeping Bags you must consider minimum temperature and fill materials.
Temperature comfort rating is an essential aspect to consider when purchasing a camping sleeping bag. For example, if you are planning to camp in the snow, you absolutely must purchase a sleeping bag rated for at least -10 degrees F. If you’re planning on camping trips to even harsher climates, you’ll need a camping sleeping bag rated much lower. For most camping adventures, a camping sleeping bag rated between 10 and 35 degrees F will give you plenty of comfort.
Camping sleeping bags are usually filled with down or synthetic materials. Each type has its own set of advantages.
-
Down sleeping bags: Made from the undercoats of ducks or geese, these are excellent insulators. They are often lighter than synthetic alternatives and compresses to a smaller size when folded. For the most part, they will outlast synthetic bags.
-
Synthetic sleeping bags: Synthetic fibers are often hollow threads of plastic that trap air for insulation. The advantage of synthetic is that they still work even if they get wet and they also dry fairly quickly. The synthetic bags are usually less expensive than their down counterparts

Welcome to the world of Camping Backpacks!
There are three types of Camping Backpacks:
1. External Frame Camping Backpacks - use aluminum tubing to distribute the load. These are excellent beginner backpacks as they are usually the most reasonably priced, easy to pack, and the coolest–due to the 1 inch space between your body and the frame.
2. Internal Frame Camping Backpacks - use stays (flat bars, usually of aluminum or plastic) to distribute the packed weight. Internal-frame camping backpacks are more flexible than external-frame camping packs, making them more ideal for adventurers like skiers and mountain climbers. These backpacks are also more form-fitting. This means that there will be less of a chance of you getting hurt, or the backpack damaged.
3. Day Packs do not have a frame. The load rests mainly on the shoulders, but some day packs have hip belts to carry some of the load. They are small and light—good for a day hike or maybe an overnight camping excursion. They are versatile and are usually less expensive than internal- or external-frame camping backpacks.

After a long hard hiking trip, it can be so tempting to take a sip from the bubbling brook you find nearby. But you might regret that little sip if you don’t use a good water filter. If you drink straight from the source, you are opening up your digestive system to myriad of harmful bacteria.
So it is a good idea to think twice before drinking from an unsafe source. When packing your hiking things, make sure to bring along a reliable purifier, such as portable Katadyn water filters. These are lightweight, but are definitely effective at eliminating water-borne bacteria.
